The client is on an transformation journey from being a vehicle supplier to a company driving the shift towards sustainable transport systems.
On this journey, they are now in need of an experienced Surface Design consultant to support and complement their internal team. You will be instrumental in creating sustainable, premium product experiences for the future, aligned with and evolving the client’s Industrial Design Strategy that will make a difference for both people and planet.

You will mainly take part in an advanced design project, focusing on both interior and exterior truck applications. You will independently develop models in Alias. Concept modelling and Class-A surfacing for exterior parts for truck.
Responsible that models fulfils the expected goals, the company’s modelling and quality standards and are delivered according to time plan.

Good knowledge, relevant for the role, within the automotive and manufacturing field. Previous experience of Blender in automotive industry is welcomed, but Alias is mandatory. Creating and converting concepts into realization and industrialization.

The role requires a high level of communication skills, committed, creative and driven with an open and flexible approach. High level ability to focus on the right things.

The position is based in Södertälje, Sweden.

Must preferably be able to be on site approx. 50% time in Södertälje.

Education, Qualifications and Experience
We believe that the ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences:
• A master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Design/ Automotive Design (or equivalent)
• Well experienced with A-class modelling in Autodesk Alias
• Experience from the automotive industry is considered meritorious.
• Solid professional work experience with multiple high-level projects.
• Deep understanding and knowledge of design as a tool for building and transforming brands, as well as supporting business strategies.

Success factors
Previous experience as a Surface Designer.
